Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR)
An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a comprehensive check of your property's electrical systems to ensure everything is safe and up to modern standards. Think of it as an MOT for your electrics — helping spot wear, faults, or outdated components before they become a hazard.
Who needs an EICR?
EICRs are recommended for homeowners, landlords & businesses. In rental properties, they are now a legal requirement every 5 years (or with each new tenancy). For commercial and industrial sites, they’re essential to meet safety obligations and protect both staff and assets.
What’s included?
- Full inspection of all fixed wiring and circuits
- Testing of consumer unit (fuse board) condition and safety features
- Assessment of earthing and bonding arrangements
- Identification of potential fire or shock risks
- Detailed digital report with any issues coded for urgency
What happens after?
You’ll receive a clear report explaining any issues found, along with recommendations. If no major issues are present, the installation is marked as “Satisfactory.” If problems are found, we can usually quote for the remedial work and carry it out promptly.
As NICEIC-approved contractors, all EICRs are carried out to the highest standards and comply with the latest IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
